Had a problem with my server. For some reason this page was totally erased or lost somehow. I didn’t have a backup but the server did. Unfortunately the backup was only through 28 Aug 09; all posts after that were lost to cyber space. So I will start backing-up web site; lesson learned. Anyway fishing great!!! Catching limits on Amberjack and King Mackerel fishing is always good!! Cobia are showing up along with the gigantic Manta Rays. Blackfin tuna are always close to the shrimp boats. Good time to also hook-up sailfish while we slow troll. Also wont be long before Mahi will be migrating through our fishing grounds. Boat is looking good and running great. So come on your fishing adventure awaits…Capt Art

Have a minute to write a quick note about our shark adventure. A couple weeks ago we were returning from a charter. Approximately 20 miles from shore I noticed quite a few birds hoovering and diving over a small area. When we reached the birds we saw a very large shortfin Mako Shark trying to eat a Loggerhead turtle that was on the surface of the water. We estimate the Mako at about 9 ft long and well over 400lbs. The Mako kept swimming circles around the Loggerhead trying in vain to get the turtle in his mouth. We immediately cut up large chunk bait and started chumming the water. We then put a large piece of chunk bait on a wire rig and trolled it slowly behind the boat. It didn’t take long for the hook-up. Once hooked-up the Mako made numerous spectacular leaps out of the water. He never made long runs and stayed close to the boat and Loggerhead turtle. He came along side the boat numerous times and I was able to shoot him with my spear gun with power head attached. The power head malfunctioned when fired out of the water. The rounds were going off as soon as I pulled the trigger and not when the spear hit the shark. I figure the rounds ricocheted when they hit surface of water and never hit the mark. So we had four unsuccessful shots. We had the Mako hooked-up close to 2 hours and he never showed signs of giving-in. He finally did a couple of spins close to the surface wrapping the line around him. We then saw the braided line above the wire leader go into his mouth which immeditaly cut. The Mako looked back at us pissed as he swam towards the depths looking again for the Loggerhead I’m sure!!! What a dissappointment!! Needless to say we’re checking all bird packs and power head has been functioned checked in and out of water…Capt Art
25 Apr 10 As usual so busy barely have time to post fishing reports. MAHI,MAHI,MAHI !!!! Started showing up about 2 weeks now. Great fishing especially with good temperature breaks and weed lines. One of my favorite types of fishing. Grouper opens back up 1 May. Needless to say lots of bottom fishing on the agenda also. Ocean settles this time of year as does the weather. We are under more direct high pressure systems that bring light winds and calm seas. Out in the deep the ocean turns a cobalt blue with long, bright sunny days. Bait fish are here, water has warmed to ideal conditions and all the makings of perfect fishing days are here. But all year long here in Florida you have perfect fishing conditions; it’s just a little bit more perfect!!! So come on, your fishing adventure awaits!!
Mahi, Mahi, Mahi !!!!! Mahi are roaming all over our fishing grounds. Best Mahi fishing for the next couple of months. Grouper opens today. Great fishing conditions!!! Lots of trolling and bottom dropping going on. Come get some!! Capt Art
2 May 10 Hooked-Up a 200 lb Hammerhead Shark. Ate a 20 lb snapper 15 feet below the surface that we were trying to land and release. Hour and a half fight on a penn 4.0 reel with 60lb braided line. Powerful fish!!! Rod got passed numerous times as he made quick work of each angler. We eventually had it close enough to get a rope around tail; take some picture and release. He then swam powerfully straight off to the deep, where he ate more snapper I’m sure, replinishing calories spent in this awesome fishing battle of giants!!
19 May 10 FEEDBACK Just wanted to take a minute to thank Capt. Art for a great day of fishing, and recommend him to anyone interested catching fish. The mate reffered to him as the “Mad Scientist” when it comes to finding the fish… and HE FINDS THE FISH! Even in strong winds, currents, rough water, and no weedline, the Mad Scientist knows something the others don’t, and had us hooking up on the top and bottom, ALL DAY, NON-STOP! Chadley Jaziri
1 May 10 Great time to be fishing!!! Yesterday we caught Mahi, Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, Sea Bass and a few other tasty critters. Weather has been perfect and should stay that way throughout the summer with calm seas, cobalt blue water and very hungry fish. I’m going to have to do another bottom check soon cause the fish are chewing the bottom out of my boat.
27 May 10 Feedback Captain Art, This is Darren DeCarlo from last Friday. Vinny and I had an awesome trip and we wanted to say thank you very much. 31 May 10 Feedback Art & Paul, We all wanted to thank you for a great fishing adventure last week! We were all impressed with both your and Paul’s, experience, customer service, knowledge of the fishing areas, and the amazing efforts to help our rookie offshore fishing group to catch fish and have a great time. If we could have only gotten Emily to bite the head off that bait fish instead of you, I’m sure we would have caught a whale instead of that huge snapper. OK you GOT me! We all had a great time and will be looking you up again, when we come from the hills of PA to visit Cape Canaveral. Thanks again, Glenn and Lynda Bush

14 Oct 10: Sorry it’s been so long since my last update but I’ve been extremely busy fishing, spending time with my new grandaughter and fixing whatever my better half deems so (pain in the &^#@). Mahi Mahi are starting their southerly migration through our waters; good catches. Mangrove snapper bite is awesome especially around the full moon when they spawn. Amberjack are chewing the bottom out of my boat as usual. King Mackerel is picking up; excellent in November. Grouper is also getting better as our waters cool allowing fish to transition into shallower areas allowing easier hook-ups. Also good catches of sea bass, triggers, and vermillion snappers. Pretty good fishing scenarios to say the least. So come on an escape for a day of fishing pleasure that always awaits the offshore fisherman!!! Capt Art
