Great fishing!!! King Mackerel are here. Catching large fish..2 and 3 at a time. Catching fish up to 40 lbs; it’s awesome to see them skyrocketing after the baits. We catch our limit quickly and then focus on bottom fishing. Also lots of cobia around. They usually go after the pogie when we slow troll or make the mistake to swim up to the boat. Usually in groups of 3 to 4 fish. We scramble to catch them all. We try a jig first and then a live pogie..great action and everyone takes part in hooking up the fish. Bottom bite has been awesome. The water has been super clean top to bottom. Catching lots of snapper, grouper, sea bass, triggers, amberjack, also cobia that hang out on the larger structures loaded with bait fish. Bottom fishing is nonstop action with 4-5 anglers fishing at a time. Cooler waters make bottom fishing the best this time of year. Blackfin tuna are here!! This is the time we start targeting them. We usually find them under the birds that we mark up to 3 miles out our radar. Once we get close you can see them breaking water and crashing baits at the surface. We then put out the tuna feathers and troll in close proximity to their feeding freenzy. One of my favorite types of fishing and not to mention my also favorite table fare…sushi!!! All in all great fishing as usual!!!!
