Art’s Weekly Round Up: With winter weather out of the way, fishing has picked up tremendously. Hardly any current on the bottom of the ocean has made it easy to anchor up and target bottom fish very effortlessly. We’ve also been having a very nice kingfish bite this past week going and taking at will.…Details
Another day, another tax payment. Sharks were relentless. It seemed as if every red snapper or amberjack brought up was either bit in half or completely eaten off the line. Monster hammerheads, sandbars, and other pelagic sharks made most of the tax payments, whirling right next to the boat at times nailing our fish left…Details
What a beautiful day it was on the water once again. Every drop was another solid fish. Plenty of lane snapper, reds, mangroves, mutton’s, yellow-tails and vermillion’s all hit the ice box, besides the endangered reds of course. The crew also managed to scrap up a nice cobia and several big gag grouper which unfortunately…Details
“Every drop we got a hit, everydrop.”, said first mate Caleb. With warmer waters and calmer conditions compared to our mailstorm of a winter we had, the crew of the Nancy Jane hit the reefs and wrecks to feel some tight lines again. With a livewell full of healthy looking croakers, mullet and pinfish, to…Details
Killer day out on the water once again. Weather reports looked iffy the night before. So Captain Art explained the scenario and left it up to the crew in the morning. With excitement in the air, the crew gambles and decides to face the weather head on. Turns out….. there was no weather and it…Details
With a few nice days of fishable weather, The Nancy Jane 2 headed straight out to blue water to waste very little time incase the winds did pick up. Sure enough, as soon as we arrived monster triggers began flying over the rails. Then came the vermillon snapper and porgies. Not to mention that every…Details
Squeaking out a day in the middle of this horribly windy winter we are having, 1st Mate Josh Hendry and crew battled both the weather and a nice bounty of big grey grouper. Getting past all the mambo red snapper wasn’t easy though. Made for a couple of very strained lower backs and forearms by…Details
Yesterdays non charter day was spent collaborating piles of meat to sell at the fish house. Fishing was epic! Action all day with a non stop bite. Caught our commercial limit of 50 kingfish and added a few cobia to the box as well. Saw plenty of large hammerheads, sandbars and other giant sharks trying…Details
These hog hunting fools from orlando sure know how to put a hurtin on some beers…… and the fish. Putting together one of the best boxes of fish we’ve seen in a while. Congrats men.
Great crew today aboard the Nancy Jane 2! Loaded the boat with plenty of triggerfish and snapper. To bad 75% of them had to go back! frown emoticon We also caught this mysterious red/lane/carribean snapper hybrid looking snapper. Fish had the body of a red but very odd markings and fin colorations.
